چکیده
This paper provides new results to the literature, showing that output flexibility in oil production depends on extraction technology. In particular, constructing a novel well‐level monthly dataset covering more than 16,000 crude wells North Dakota, we find supply elasticity of shale be positive and range 0.3–0.9, depending firms characteristics. We no such responses for conventional wells. interpret pattern consistent with Hotelling theory optimal extraction. Reserves are an inventory, decision produce is intertemporal choice when draw down below‐ground inventory.

Water Use and Management in the Bakken Shale Oil Play in North Dakota.
Oil and natural gas development in the Bakken shale play of North Dakota has grown substantially since 2008. This study provides a comprehensive overview and analysis of water quantity and management impacts from this development by (1) estimating water demand for hydraulic fracturing in the Bakken from 2008 to 2012; (2) compiling volume estimates for maintenance water, or brine dilution water;...

In the United States, autochthonous cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by infection with Leishmania mexicana has been reported from Texas and Oklahoma. Here, we describe a child with 2 new features: cutaneous infection acquired outside of the south-central United States (in North Dakota) and infection caused by Leishmania donovani species complex.
متن کاملCrabs from the Cannonball Formation (paleocene) of North Dakota
More than 50 specimens of fossil crabs collected from the Cannonball formation (Paleocene) of southern Morton and Burleigh Counties, south-central North Dakota form the basis for the first report of fossil crustaceans in North Dakota. The new genus Camarocarcinus is created for their reception with the new species C. arnesoni as the type species. A separate, single, large propodus is placed in ...
متن کاملSalt toxicosis in waterfowl in North Dakota.
About 150 waterfowl died and another 250 became weak and lethargic from suspected salt poisoning after using White Lake, a highly saline lake in Mountrail County, North Dakota. Frigid temperatures made fresh water unavailable, forcing the birds to ingest the saline waters with resultant toxic effects. Sick birds recovered when removed from the salt water and released into fresh water marshes. B...
